Letter of Recommendation for Trainer Yashar Zamanian

To anyone contemplating Yashar’s dog behaviour training services:

We started training for our yellow lab Riley (and us) with another individual last November. We had 2 sessions with her and were "relatively" pleased with the results. Our 3rd session was then scheduled with Yashar because our dog (and us) had not completely "gotten" all of what he was supposed to be taught.

Training with Yashar was a whole different feeling. First of all he listened to what we had already been taught and what we had not; what was working and what was not. In some areas we had to be reminded of the correct delivery of commands and in others we needed to learn new and more appropriate commands. He spent as much time as we needed for us to feel comfortable and more in control with respect to issuing commands, disciplining, and rewarding Riley. Yashar would also explain why we needed to do all things from the standpoint of being "The leader" and it really did help to be reminded that we were dealing with a dog and that we had to take some responsibility for "incidents" that happened. We loved his theory on being "psychic".

He was very patient when discussing what areas we found more challenging. There was never a time that we felt rushed or were made to feel that we should be learning "more quickly" or that our problems were not to be taken seriously. He praised us for what we had accomplished, was clear about what we still we needed to work on, and assured us that with consistency we would accomplish more. For us it was imperative to feel that we had really learned correctly. Riley would benefit more from our knowing how to properly train him and that in turn would increase his safety.

As important as everything he did in person are his follow-up call(s) to see how we, and Riley, are doing. He sincerely cares about his clients, human and canine, and that is wonderful.

We highly recommend Yashar to anyone who truly wants to have a rewarding relationship with his or her dog. Attached are some photos of Mr. Riley and his happy "parents". He also has learned to harmoniously share the house with 2 cats, a parakeet, and a desert tortoise.
