Our Canine Poodle Puppy Training

At 9 months old, our standard poodle puppy was not responding to the same tried and true training methods we had used with our first dog. While Georgie seemed very smart and quick to learn basic commands, he was showing a real stubborn streak. His normal greeting was to jump on us and others. We also noticed he barked at strangers, he barked at anyone who came to the door, and sometimes he barked or whined for attention. He continually tugged on his leash when we went for walks and simply would not respond to the “Heel” command. We were concerned about him developing some aggressive behaviors as he got older, so we sought the help of a professional.

We initially interviewed another noted dog trainer in the area, but felt uncomfortable with his scare tactics. He had us convinced that our dog was almost beyond help and would require months of costly lessons. Fortunately, we met with Yashar and it was the best thing we ever did. His kind and gentle training methods are fantastic and we realized immediate results.

Yashar really understands dogs. A specialist in dog psychology training methods, he provided us critical tools to get our dog to respond to us. He taught us so much about our own behaviors and how they were affecting our dog’s actions. We came to realize that many of our dog’s anxious behaviors came from his fear and/or our excitement. Also, our "smart" dog had figured out how to outsmart our training efforts. Yashar showed us some little things our dog did that we thought were "cute" were actually his means of seeking attention and/or trying to gain control of us. With Yashar’s expertise and guidance, we were able to completely reverse this behavior. He trained US to be in control while training our dog with love and affection. He also taught us how to assess our dog’s demeanor and be able to tell if he is paying attention to us or otherwise distracted. And most importantly, he showed us how to follow through on commands every time so that our dog responded better. All in all, this was the best dog training experience we ever had. We were simply amazed at how well Georgie responded to Yashar’s methods the very first lesson. Our dog is now much more at ease, does not bark for attention and responds to the commands sit, stay, come, "go-on", down and heel. Thanks to Yashar, our changed behavior made a gigantic difference in our dog’s behavior. Yashar is truly a natural at what he does and we would highly recommend his services for any dog of any age.
